Which is better, vinyl or rubber?
Rubber is a zero plasticizer flooring choice. Unlike vinyl, it will not outgas plasticizer contaminants that are unsuitable for use in a clean room. Rubber is more ergonomic than vinyl because it absorbs sound and has excellent slip resistance. Rubber is easily cleaned with only soap and water. Vinyl floors require scrubbing and buffing. Rubber inhibits static on people wearing any type of footwear. Static control vinyl can only eliminate static on people wearing special static control footwear like heel straps, ESD shoes and conductive shoe liners.
